Looking at the Moon

It was one of those nights when I tossed and turned and then woke up. It was around 3 am. I looked outside, and I saw this moon. I grabbed my camera , set it on long exposure, and....

I have a 4-year old digital camera, use no filters, so it's been difficult to capture the moon as a disk instead of a fuzzy light. But, here are some decent pictures of the moon I took in the last few years.

A summer moon aligns with lines of trees in a walkway by the Hudson river.Peeking through the clouds. This very old pier served as a gateway to many thousands of immigrants who entered the US mainland.

Yes, it was magical... strolling by the water with the skyline all lit up and the moon overhead. The moon appeared as a bright disk, but it was to capture it.
Can you spot the moon in the pictures below?

Note: If you click on the pictures, they open up larger in a new window.

I'm salivating looking at these pix. It's not just the moon, but what's underneath it too! Great experiences. ;)

I have the same problem with shooting the moon. Its light gets difused and the moon doesn't look round. It has to do with long exposure, so if you want to capture other stuff, the moon's light gets overexposed.

The conditions must be perfect, not too dark or something.

Like your pictures.

I clicked on the pictures and they didn't open bigger!

Try again now. I haven't figured out why this happens occasionally. I had to re-upload all the pictures and do a new post to make them open. What a royal pain it was.
Anyway, all is good now.

If anyone knows why sometimes the pictures lose their ability to open into a bigger frame, let me (us) know.

@ Aqua,

Well, it is a matter of perspective!

Are all these pictures from around NY?

All except the third from the bottom; it was taken in New Hope, Pennsylvania, across the Delaware River. What you see is the early evening moon over Lambertville, NJ. It was during the beautiful autumn.
